We are proud to be delivering a landmark healthcare development in one of the areas that needs it most—Harehills Community Health Centre (HC2). With Construction well underway over the last few months we have seen the foundations poured and the steel frame go in. With Completion scheduled for early 2024 we are excited to see the progress on site.
The Harehills area currently suffers from some of the poorest health outcomes in Leeds. According to data from Public Health England, life expectancy for men in Harehills is 11.5 years lower than those living in the least deprived areas of the city, and for women, the gap is 9.4 years. These stark statistics highlight the urgent need for better, more accessible healthcare infrastructure in the community.
Our new, state-of-the-art, purpose-built health centre is designed to be part of the solution to reduce these inequalities. Located on Harehills Lane, the building will house a fully equipped GP surgery, a retail pharmacy, and dedicated space for a range of community health services. The facility has been thoughtfully designed with accessibility, dignity, and inclusivity at its heart.
Once complete, the centre will serve thousands of local residents, improving access to high-quality NHS care in an area where existing GP surgeries are overstretched and, in the case of Milan Street Surgery were operating in completely outdated premises. The building will support a model of integrated care—bringing services together under one roof to better meet the needs of patients and the broader community.
This is not just a building project—it’s a meaningful investment in public health and social equity. It reflects a long-term vision for levelling up healthcare access and outcomes across Leeds.
We believe that every community deserves modern, well-resourced healthcare. This centre will provide the people of Harehills with the care they deserve—not just for today, but for the future.
