Project
Brief
The vision for St George’s Chambers was to sensitively restore and convert this historic building into three premium residential apartments.
We focused on preserving key architectural features — including original windows, stonework, and internal detailing — while upgrading the building’s fabric and systems to meet modern standards of comfort, efficiency, and security.
Each apartment was to deliver spacious layouts, high-quality finishes, and an authentic sense of character that would appeal to both owner-occupiers and investors.
Development
Process
The development of St George’s Chambers required a considered and collaborative approach, balancing the demands of heritage preservation with contemporary building performance whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the Veritas bar & restaurant below.
Extensive preparatory works were undertaken to stabilise and protect the historic structure before conversion works commenced.
Careful attention was paid to restoring original features such as cornicing, sash windows, and masonry, while introducing underfloor heating, bespoke kitchens, and modern bathrooms in a way that complemented the building’s character.
New M&E services were discretely integrated throughout, ensuring that the apartments offered modern living standards without compromising on aesthetic integrity.
