Harehills Community Health Centre Officially Opens Its Doors

We’re proud to announce that the Harehills Community Health Centre (HC2)  is now officially open, bringing much-needed healthcare services to one of the most underserved areas of Leeds.

Developed by Mayfair Group Investment (MGI), and led by our founder Rohin Dhand, this new, purpose-built centre is now home to Milan Street Surgery and Medichem Pharmacy. Located in the heart of Harehills, the facility will serve residents across Harehills, Richmond Hill and Burmantofts, helping to bridge the long-standing gap in healthcare provision for these communities.

This is the second major healthcare project delivered by MGI in Leeds – the first being St Martins House Medical Centre in Chapeltown. Both centres were developed with one clear goal: to provide high-quality, accessible healthcare in the parts of the city that need it most.

Reflecting on the project, MGI founder Rohin Dhand said:

“This wasn’t just another development for us – it was personal. I grew up in this area, and I’ve seen first-hand the challenges communities like Harehills face when it comes to accessing good healthcare. I might not be a doctor, but I knew I could help by creating spaces where great care could happen. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve delivered here – especially given how tough the journey was. These places really do change lives.”

The project has also been strongly supported by local leaders. Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung described the centre as “a significant step towards health equity in Leeds,” and Councillor Asghar Khan called it “a much-needed facility that will make a real difference in the everyday lives of our residents.”

The new centre was delivered during a particularly difficult time for the construction sector, coming out of the pandemic and dealing with record inflation – but we stayed the course. And we’re not quite done yet: there’s over 520m² of space on the second floor that we’re looking to develop into a walk-in centre or additional healthcare use, so we can broaden the support available to the community even further.

Two major centres delivered. Thousands of lives impacted. As a social impact investor, MGI is proud to champion developments that not only deliver high-quality infrastructure but also align with our wider ESG values—investing in projects that create lasting, meaningful change in the communities that need it most.
